The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) appointed The LOTE Agency to research multicultural audiences’ awareness of consumer and competition issues and their communication needs. LOTE conducted qualitative and quantitative research structured to provide insights into the specific communities. The overarching aim was to inform strategies to help multicultural populations interact with the ACCC.
Based on the research, we gained valuable insights on how we can raise awareness for multicultural Australians to obtain information regarding their consumer protection rights more easily. As a result, LOTE proposed a communication timeline including more consultations with community leaders, in-language direct advertising on social media channels, newspaper advertising, and radio advertising based on high preferences.
