Challenge
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) recognised an opportunity to improve communication with communities that don’t speak English well or are from CALD backgrounds regarding the treatment and benefits for people injured in transport accidents and road safety.
In order to address this issue, The LOTE Agency proposed a partnership approach to support TAC in its multicultural communications journey to engage more effectively with CALD audiences by conducting multicultural workshops with key TAC stakeholders to determine the gaps that need to be addressed.
Solution
LOTE conducted multicultural workshops to better understand the current state of multicultural communications. With the findings gathered from the workshops, we were able to provide a recommendation report that included detailed feedback and comments on prior activities, a communication roadmap for short-term and long-term considerations as well as cultural considerations for key community groups within Victoria.
