Cultural Insights Series: Introducing China

We recently shared the second of our Cultural Insights Series during which we explored the incredible culture of Greece with a friend of LOTE, Dimitri. From this week on, we’ll be publishing the third chapter. In preparation for the start of the Chinese New Year tomorrow, we are happy to introduce Bruce, our guide to the Chinese culture!

Chinese culture is hugely important to Australia. The first wave of migration happened during the Gold Rush period. Today, it’s the third largest migrant population. The latest Census in 2016 recorded over half a million China-born people living in Australia.

In the upcoming episodes Bruce will show us around his hometown, Wuhan, and other top-destinations. We’ll learn what makes China so different and surprising for visitors, as well as some do’s and don’ts in Chinese etiquette. We’ll celebrate the most important Chinese holidays at bright, colourful festivals, listen to traditional music and try some authentic recipes.

Are you ready to join us on this journey? We will be publishing the videos weekly on our blog and YouTube and share the updates across our social media channels, so you can follow as each new episode comes out.
