Diversity in sport helps us to value and respect one another in wider society. In sport, the focus is on the competition and winning – there’s no room for prejudice and teammates need to be judged on the basis of their abilities.

30% of Australians were born overseas and over 20% speak a language other than English at home. What if you had a trusted partner who could help you reach this audience, attracting more players and fans from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds?

The LOTE Agency will take all of the guesswork away, providing you with the tools to reach previously untapped audiences and making your club stronger, for current and future generations.

The AFL recognised a need to strengthen their relationships with CALD communities and inform them about the numerous physical, social and educational benefits the game has to offer. The LOTE Agency was commissioned to conduct research with CALD communities, including demographic research, testing of knowledge levels, barriers to participation and areas of improvement.

The research provided invaluable insights, allowing The LOTE Agency to create a multicultural strategy with which the AFL could engage with CALD communities at a deeper level.

The multicultural strategy “Many Cultures, One Game”, focusing on engagement was very well-received by the AFL and will be implemented by all clubs.
